Age of Champions Bad Girl by anotherdamian Age of Champions Bad Girl by anotherdamian
The only requirements for this one was the name, Bad Girl. So I immediately thought of those bands like the Ronnettes, the Shangri-Las, or more recently the Detroit Cobras, and of course Amy Winehouse. So this piece is kinda a hybrid of the look and the sound of 60's bad girl music.

Thanks! Cool flesh tones can be difficult. This piece went through some rough times as you can see in the paint up gif here

Glad you like how she came out. Doing a blue skin tone can be counted as zany. It's easier to do on monsters, but it's hard to make look pretty. So I'm glad it turned out well. For the hair I looked at pictures of both Ronnie Spector, and Amy Winehouse.

exactely!!! my knowledge of blue skinned ladies are pretty small, only Mystique is in my book, but I find her skin-tone to be fitting to both her personality and beauty :) the Bad girl you drew is very beautiful, the blue skin only gives her an exotic touch :) she could be anything (if she was real, from caucasian to black which is great :p) and I recognized some Amy Winehouse here :p but it's prettier than hers :o (not to be mean)

Don't be too hard on Amy. She was really cute till she started getting harangued by the media and consumed by her vises, near the end. The list of charities she was involved with goes on and on. Not at all the image her publicists or the media portrayed her as.

I agree with you :o back then when she was singing "take the box", she really was cute :) I really feel sorry for her when I saw what happened to her, since she met that blake, since she gave into alcohol and of course, since the medias started to harrass her :/ In fact I was just referring to the hairdo :o

lol!...no , it's just that all the elents look as though they were meant to be there from the start, i only recently started doing digital work due to most of my traditional stuff being too big for my scanner,a lot of times i try to reproduce some of it digitally, and it's so much trial and error it takes longer than the original :)

I started traditionally as well. It's a little bit weird at first but it helped me to approach digital like a mixed media piece, working both additively and subtractively. Throwing stuff up then scraping it away with layer masks made it easier for me to start. I also did a lot of glazing color with multiply layers over pencils I scanned in to start.

Sweep the leg Jamie!...Sorry, wrong "Cobras."

Nice job with the background, but I'm a little confused why she's blue. My understanding of how lighting works could be wrong, but I didn't think she'd be lit as blue with those yellow candle flames in the background.

Oh, yeah. And she's a dark elf. Fantasy games.

I figured there'd be a logical fantasy explanation (oxymoron?). I've never played D&D or read similar literature, so it takes me a bit to recognize a dark elf when I see one.

Make sure you keep it that way. It's a social disease that some of us have to bare from a misspent childhood.

My friend almost got me infected with that plague when he started buying D&D manuals. He never had enough time to put any serious effort into it though, so I think I'm still clean. Though Lord knows my 90's-specific taste in cartoons has given me a disease of my own.
